Dadar and Nagar Haveli

The prominent places of tourist interest are Tadekeshwar Shiva Mandir, Bindrabin, Deer Park at Khanvel, Vanganga Lake and Island Garden, Dadra, Vanvihar Udhyan Mini Zoo, Bal Udhyan, Tribal Museum, and Hirvavan Garden at Silvassa. To encourage tourism activities, some traditional and modern cultural activities like celebration of Tarpa Festival, Kite festival, World Tourism day, etc., are organized every year. Normally, all festivals of Hindus, Muslims and Christians are celebrated in the territory, while tribal celebrate their own festivals. Diwaso is celebrated by Dhodia and Varli tribes, and Raksha Bandhan is celebrated by Dhodia tribe.

Places to see in Dadar and Nagar Haveli

The Tribal Cultural Museum:

Developed with the sole objective of preserving the rapidly vanishing tribal culture, this depicts the socio /cultural heritage of simple tribal folks of the UT. It houses a good collection of masks, musical apparatus, fishing gadgets, hunting tools, agricultural implements, household and kitchen articles and life-size statues of local tribes.

Khanvel:

It is situated at a distance of 20 km from Silvassa. The drive to Khanvel is lined with tall trees on both sides of the road. This serene landscape, surrounded by lush green hills, beckons nature lovers with its Rolling Meadows and native-styled cottages amidst terraced gardens. The calm and gentle Sakartod River flows past Khanvel.

The Vanganga Lake and Island Garden:

The rustic wooden bridges, the flowers, jogging paths, thatched huts, and paddleboats-all constitute an ideal vibes for the honeymooners. A beautiful lake Garden Vanganga is located at the entrance of the U.T. of Dadra & Nagar Haveli. The garden created with Central Island is connected with bridges in Japanese style. The major attraction are its water spread framed with tree line, boats, fountains, restaurants and jogging track. The garden is very popular with filmmakers and more than 40 Hindi film hit songs have been pasteurized here.

Dudhni:

It is the large waterfront of river Damanganga provides breathtaking view of the water spread over Madhuban Dam. The luxurious tents pitched right near the bank provide a countryside experience.

Hirwa Van garden:

It is a beautiful garden with roaring waterfalls, misty cascades, rustic stonewalls, and twin arches, tiny kiosks and springy lawns interspersed with islands of flowers-truly a visitor�s glee. Vandhara Udyan:

It is a riverside park with sprawling lawns dotted with exquisite pavilions, an ideal site for picnic buffs.

Mini Zoo and Bal Udyan (at Silvassa) :

The colorful birds, mischievous monkeys, awesome pythons and sleepy crocodiles coupled with swings, slides and merry-go-rounds render this site every kid's dream come true.

Road to Dudhni:

40 km south from Silvassa to Dudhni via Khanvel is a refreshing journey. There is music in the air as one traverse the road lined with tall trees, the small huts adorned with tribal paintings and stone images of the various local deities peeping through the groves of trees - an endless stretch of forests and woods.
