Andaman and Nicobar

Andaman and Nicobar is a lovely place to visit with so many things to see. There are around 500 islands spreading across the total distance of 780 Kms. The Andaman groups of islands are originally populated by the Great Andamanese, the Onge, the Jarawa and the Sentinelese. Port Blair is the capital of Andaman and Nicobar. The Andaman and Nicobar islands are renowned for the pristine clean coral beaches. The Andaman & Nicobar group is a cluster of islands that are a union territory of India and are situated in the Bay of Bengal.

The various places which can be visited in Andaman and Nicobar Islands are:

City trip:

One of the best places to visit in city is Cellular jail, and others are Fisheries Museum, Andaman water sports complex, Samudrika-Marine museum, Anthropological Museum, Forest museum, Mini zoo, Khadi gramodoyg Emporium, Gandhi Park, Corbyn�s cove beach. 

 It�s a half an hour journey from the city. Main interest in this island is the open space jail also called Women jail.

Chirya tapoo: Also known as Bird Island and has a Bird Sanctuary.

Mount Harriet: The highest hill around South Andaman (365m), lying on the other side of Ross Island, provides an excellent view of the Port Blair City.

Neil Island: A long shallow beach basically used for timbering operations.

Chatam Island: It is the center of activity of the Forest Department. It has perhaps the biggest Saw Mill Tours to some of the Andaman and Nicobar islands, which are open to of its kind in Asia.

Kondul: It is a small island to the north of Great Nicobar and is known for good canoes.

Katchal: It is the most developed island. Scheduled tribe forms the major part of the population. The soil is most suitable for Rubber Plantation.

Pullomillor: It an extremely beautiful island known for copra and betel nut plantation.

Madhuban:  The land is used as a training ground for elephants by rangers.

North Bay: This beach is 15 to 20 minutes journey by sea from Phoenix Bay Jetty at Port blair.

Ross Island: It used to be a British colony where had lived. This is just 30 minutes sea journey from Phoenix Bay Jetty of Port Blair.

Red skin Island:  Situated in Mahatma Gandhi Marine national park and is famous for under water corals and marine life.

Havelock Island: This is a very famous beach for its golden sand and bluish sea water.
 
Baratang: Located at Middle Andaman. The journey is through thick, dense forest area.
 
Limestone caves near Baratang jetty, Mud Volcano, Rangat, Chidiyatapu (Place for Sun set); Hut bay islands are the other places to see.

In short we can say Andaman and Nicobar islands comprises of 572 bright emerald islands, atolls and rocks. Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park is one of the unique places to be visited. Madhuban is the most diverse forms of unusual birds, butterflies and animals. Ramnagar beach is one of the beautiful beaches. For tourists these places are a feast to the eyes with their lush green flora, exquisite fauna, lovely beaches and widespread lagoons enclosed by exotic coral reefs. Thus we can say there is another paradise on earth.
